The Inspiration
The epic tale of Ramayan has been told in many great ways both, written and visual.
I wanted to design and tell this Epic in a style that would merge the visuals and the story itself.
Upon researching, I learnt that the Ramayan was presented in shadow puppetry form in Indonesia. This style was famously known as the Wayang Kulit style.
The style of Wayang Kulit combines deep spiritual meaning, entertaining storytelling, extraordinary musicality, and deep philosophical messages. It is one of the most complete art forms.
This became my source of inspiration to attempt and create an expressive style typeface dedicated to Ramayan.
